Orthoepist (plural orthoepists) An expert at orthoepy: a person who studies the pronunciation of words, especially (historical) one of the orthoepists, 16th- and 17th-century linguists who tried to establish standard English pronunciations and spellings.

A pronouncing manual containing about four thousand five hundred words, including a considerable number of the names of foreign authors, artists, etc. that are often mispronounced.

The condition is average with faded area and shows some water spots. The pages are clean and flexible. Cover has gilt design and gilt lettering on the spine. The end pages are also gilded, including the bottom. Attractive shelf book, fun read.

Stored in non smoking, cat free home, this has no lingering odors other hand an old book smell.
