This in in Average condition. Binding is tight and cover is in good antique condition. It is leather bound. 8" x 5" and 186 pages, including indexes. Heavily illustrated and Informative. This is a wonderful old book.
Full Title is: Familiar Lectures on Botany Practical, Elementary and Physiological with an Appendix containig descriptions of THE PLANTS OF THE UNITED STATES AND EXOTICS, & c. for the use of Seminaries and Private Students.
Mrs. Lincoln was the late Vice President of Troy Female Seminary, Author of Lectures to Young Ladies, Chemistry for Beginners, Botany for Beginners, &c.
This has it's original leather cover that has worn corners and dirt. Pages are brown but completely readable. All pages have foxing and or browning, the pages are still flexible. However, care should be taken when reading this book. Gloves are recommended to prevent body oils from getting on the pages. There is a name written in lead pencil on the front cover. It can probably be removed. Book is all original.
The book is dated 1841 and has survived intact. It is stored in archival cover. Published in New York by Huntington & Co. 16th Edition.
Stored in plastic in a non smoking home, this has no lingering odors.
