Very good condition. London - Macmillan and Co, 1888. A collection of uniformly bound correspondence and writings from Charles Lamb. First printing of the first editions. The Letters of Charles Lamb is produced in a two volume anthology, with the first volume featuring a frontispiece of Charles Lamb. Charles Lamb was an English essayist, poet, and antiquarian, best known for his Essays of Elia and for the children's book Tales from Shakespeare
Red leather spines with gilt lettering, linen boards. Book plates inside each edition, vol 1 has the previous owner's name. 7¾" - 9¾" tall
Some scuffing on the leather spine ends and corners. Binding and hinge strong and sturdy. Pages light tan and clean and tight. Book appear to have not been read. A few first pages of foxing but not throughout. Light offsetting from frontispiece. Overall: VERY GOOD
Stored in archival wrap in a smoke free home, this has no lingering odors other than an old book smell.
